Way back in May 2005. Below an extract of my blog posted when I was 17 years old. A trip I never forget into the historical land..
(17 Yrs old then)
Visited 2 temples in Luxor. the ancient king and queens all the history under 36 C! Statues are very grand and high.
Early in the morning, went to tourist market where souvenirs cost as much as USD$40 above and shoppers are mostly westerns. I learnt that 90% of people work in tourism sector… which means tourism is very important to them although terrorist attacks happen very often. Their mouthwere very sweet as they would say handsome boy, pretty lady whatever that makes one feel happy to persuade you to buy things from them. That is when you bargain to a “low” price that you think you will be getting and BINGO! They sell to you at the “cheap” price while making a handsome profit out of it. And they would tell you they do not have small change and will encourage you to buy more.
The cruise last for 3 nights which will bring us along River Nile, a relatively famous well known river in the world.
